My name is Stoo Goff and this is my blog. I'm a professional web developer and amateur writer and musician and the focus of this blog will be around those subjects. You never know, I may even post some of my writing here. I'm from Norwich but have been living in sunny Brighton for the past year.
With close to ten years experience as a web developer in a number of different industries I have managed to develop skills in both server-side and client-side development on windows and linux servers (yes I do both PHP and ASP.Net). I'm also keenly interested in usability and accessibility and developing an interest in SEO and online marketing.
This Site
The framework for this site (codename: huginn) was built using PHP and a MySql database on the server with XHTML, CSS and a sprinkling of JavaScript on the client. I could have used an open source framework like Wordpress or Joomla but I wanted to get my hands dirty with some code. Honestly it took longer to design the site (design not being my forté) than it did to build.
There's still plenty of functionality I want to add, time permitting, so expect to see the nature of the site grow with the content.
